Due to an increased focus in the young people sector, Sport Whanganui has an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic professional to contribute to the Sport Whanganui Young People Team.

Your key area of responsibility will be to lead and advocate the importance of physical activity across young people providers. Working with providers to strengthen the delivery of initiatives that will enhance the development of physical literacy.

As part of your role you will assist in the implementation of strategies and plans that promote the development of physical activity initiatives and capability building.
This position requires a tertiary qualification in education or sport management. You will also have experience working within community groups and schools on strategic development initiatives.
This is a community development role focussed on the young people sector.

You will:

  • Manage a portfolio of early childhood and primary school providers.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of initiatives within early childhood and primary school providers.
  • Support early childhood and primary school providers to increase and improve physical literacy outcomes.
  • Take an active role in progressing Sport Whanganui’s strategic initiatives
